Dark Music: Electro - Underground - Film

This one just made me think of an urban landscape.
That kind of desolate city has always
appealed to me anyway. Not sure why that is
but every street looks beautiful to my eyes.

I can walk down the same street a 1000 times,
and never be bored of it, no matter
no matter how tired or dirty it may look
to other people, my eyes will drink in
every detail, colour, shape and texture.

The missiles are truly flying right now,
due to land this week across the globe.
21 demos, I’m not sure how I feel about it,
what will happen, if anything at all.
I have to steel myself for no reaction at all.

Just got to prepare and see what happens.
No matter what I’ll still be doing 1 track each week.
My skills are improving each week and getting faster.
It’s still a little scary that I could make a real turkey 1 week,
but after 9 weeks i don’t think it’s going to happen.

I’m surprised myself what’s coming out,
and the reaction on Last Fm is pretty good too,
I’m working hard 24/7 on pushing there, since yet again
my web stats record was broken again.It’s not much for some,
but it’s ok for me so far, just got to improve it constantly.

I’ve waited 10 years + to use this title.
I wanted to give it to a track that was worthy of it,
it’s significant to me, I hope it becomes that in the real world.
I think it will be the lead track for the demos.

There are now 21 demo packages ready.
Detroit, Florida, Germany, Uk, pretty much
all over. Those where I couldn’t find an address, I contacted,
those that replied will get a demo, bar one who
already said it wasn’t his style.

The intention of all this is not for big sales,
but to be prolific, to raise my profile, and get out there,
playing and performing, earning too!
I don’t believe sales at this level will earn much,
but regular performances will be just about right.

The biggest response I get (Myspace, etc) is “When are you playing?”
not “where can I buy”, which makes sense to me.
I’m trying to get people into it by offering something
of value, which will get them to a gig later on.
Reading more and more internet marketing, this adds up.

The hard sell doesn’t work anymore,
but testing what messages and tactics work the best,
has helped a great deal.
I bend over backwards to offer something worthwhile
to people who are likely to enjoy it….and I don’t do spam, got it?

The last two tunes took 5 days each.
So even though I put the work in to get them done,
there was still enough time to take a break, and work on internet stuff etc.
It seems like I post each track in a million places…

Now I’m toying with basic video,
Just a screen visualizer, think it’s more interesting
to look at, and another way to try to get stuff out there.
When I finally get some video of me out and about,
I’ll post that too, but it will be a while.

The time to send the bullets flying is close.
The 1 a week experiment is going well, and because
of that it’s time to demo out to some underground labels,
and just see what happens. I have 15+ targeted so far.
It’s been a while so I just don’t know how it will go.

Last Fm has been going well too
I’ve had that nagging feeling in the back of my brain
that I should be putting all my time in there,
and so far it seems that instinct is probably true.
I had the biggest jump in website stats, since I started.

So I’ll be putting a lot more time,
sleeping a lot less, while I try to tell as many people about
the new stuff as I can.
Good reactions too and even a couple of people who
have my old records, amazing after so long.

Maybe another sign I’m not wasting my time…
