Dark Music - Electronic - Underground - The Ghost That Walks

The Dark One Returns – The Music is Reborn

If you make music you know what you go through.
Are you going to get anywhere, are you sh*t? Are you wasting your time?
Where can I find help or are you looking for someone to help you?
It’s tough there is no doubt, the people I expected to give me advice and wisdom gave me nothing.
The people that I expected to tell me nothing told me more in a day(Mad Mike & Floyd from Underground Resistance, Ron Murphy, NSC) than others did for 5 years (Andy Weatherall, Stefan Robbers, Random Xs, U Trax, Djax).

There is luck involved, I haven’t had much, but more than most, a few deals, a few missed opportunities.
I’ve always felt I’m watching other people succeed and I should be in their place.
Now I’ve realised that I have to focus more on my own path, and learn from others.
Thank god for the internet, where you can find out what you need, much better than in the past…
Here are some links where I’m learning and educating myself about what is happening now, arm yourself, don’t wait for other people for do things for you
These are some of the best sites I’ve found so far, this has helped me to keep going and not to give up, to stay current and up to date.

Stay strong, and use these tools to keep yourself well trained.

The Ghost That Walks behind your eyes…

For the last couple of days the spirit behind my music has been alive and restless.
The thing, a malevolent (but never destructive) force that looks something like Mr Barlow from the original Salem’s Lot.
It’s never let me down when the Ghost That Walks stirs like that, and it is usually for a reason.

So something significant has changed, maybe it means that it’s time to return to the Uk.
I’m never quite sure, but it means something for certain. It has made me feel more positive about returning to make some more Electro again.
Using what I’ve learnt. I’ll actually run it on a pc running MacOSx, just for the speed, then everything that couldn’t run together before will all work.
Reason, Moog Modular, Pro Tools, Live should all run no problem, just need a test…

But anyway the Ghost is there for my protection when I start to forget who I am and what I’m really supposed to be doing on this planet.
When I start to think there is another path to follow, he will wake me up with his presence.
I hope that you listen to your inner demons sometimes, as they are not all there to do you harm.
Your instincts warn you for good reason…

Till next time, stay strong…

Electro comes full circle, again

It’s amazing how resilient I’ve become because of music. Just when I was thinking my much loved Electro style was only going to show it’s face in films, something changes…
I was inspired by the Red Bull Academy podcast featuring Arabian Prince or Professor X talking about electro and the resurgence of it.
It’s what made them pay attention in Detroit, I think I just have to pay more attention to the dance floor and my instincts for a good dance groove.
Something which I realised was alive and well from a couple of Dj gigs in China, the Hip Hop and R&B? Picked the tunes and made em move.
The Soul and Motown, exactly the same.
So I’ll take that and put it into Electro. I’ve set myself a task to write an Electro album and pitch it to labels big and small, see what happens.

F*ck knows how I’ll do that. Back in the day I sent out tapes and people actually listened, even in Detroit. But now? So many labels and artists, how do they even get to listen to any demos now? I’ll have to do my homework and see what I can do to work out a way in again.
But if I made em move in Detroit, I am halfway there, just need to add what they talked about, think about the Dj and the strippers!
Quote” If you get a hit in the booty bars you got a hit record”

Till next time
Stay strong, stay true and DON’T GIVE UP
