Which Do You Value More? You Choose…

Now I’ve been making music in various forms for a long time now, electro, dark ambient, techno, and now orchestral.
I’m not mainstream and never will be, so I appreciate when someone likes what I do.
I value them very highly, you are nothing without people who like what you do, and I like to make music that others feel something for.

My biggest fan in China is Wing, who saw me play live at the Rhythm Uk Anniversary in Guangzhou, and turned out to support me twice when Dj ing
Hip Hop and Soul at Zinc in Guangzhou. So it was nice to see him and his girlfriend again in Shenzhen, since it’s been a while.
I value this kind of thing very highly, forget work, money, you can’t put a price on that kind of thing.

It’s up to you which path you choose, friendship and a real link, or acquaintances, money, plastic faces and words.

Feb 17th 2006: Hip Hop Bling @ Zinc, Guangzhou

Purely Hip Hop and R&B this time, and after a much better sound
check,it sounded as good as I could get it.
I still think that moving to Cd's will be better until I can solve the
laptop sound problem.
It could be the interface just can't match the “blast” of CD's.
Apparently people can't accept a laptop, even though I'd do EXACTLY the
same just with Cds', nuts eh?
Anyway, despite a long powercut, a police visit about the noise, still
managed to turn it round.
I think the crowd and the party would have been around much longer and
I could see were building up for a good night.
Just who stays in a bar after a long break from sounds/power?? Not many
Those who remained enjoyed good quality hip hop and r&b, no cheese. If
anyone asks me for Pussycat frigging dolls again….
But watching them all dance and feeding what I thought they'd respond
to actually worked.
Managers always tend to panic a little when people thin out and go
commercial .
It's a bad idea, you just end up like any number of bars, what sets you
Quality music and good , credible tunes, that's my guarantee . In my
view that's what makes people come back and follow whatever you do…
Lots of CDs' given away and people signing up to my mailing list.
Looking forward to the next one, when I can expand things further .
I really hope to get hold of some CD/Vinyl decks to practice scratching
and mixing ( my first and oldest musical skill) to make it more
Finances play a part there but have to wait and see………
