UK Electro Music Masterclass in China 19th/20th May

No pictures for the event which was a shame. Next time my own photos I
Class depleted due to (eh?) extra drama practice. This was a rare one
off thing here, but no one seemed to realise it.
Kids took to it well and despite having my time slashed in half and
being given 20 mins to set up, they still made a good tune.
Just a guiding hand, all their own work, and if one of them decides to
take up electronic music then something has been achieved.
That may be idealistic but then someone has to take on that mantle.
Otherwise the world, and the innovative, ground breaking world as we
know it wouldn't exist.
No UR, no Tresor, no hip hop, just an empty landscape. We owe those
people a debt, and I'd like to become one of those people one day,
rather than just focused on myself. Encouragement for me, kept me
going, and makes me believe I can do it. That is priceless and in short
supply it seems, especially in China…

Wheels Turn Once Again to Beijing …

Well it's been a while and I apologise for not keeping in touch.
Breaking my own rules a bit there.
My excuse is no internet in my new place, and a bit of confusion about
what you could have.
I'm in a hotel in Beijing on the room connection, Sunday now, relaxing
after a gutting English defeat.
Out with a whimper , so disappointed , truth be told they didn't take
their chances well enough.
Back to Shenzhen tomorrow, and I have lots to think about.
As I've always said, this place is far more suited to me and has more
opportunity than Shenzhen will ever have.
I remember someone saying to me a year ago I was wasting my time here
in Beijing. Seems I wasted a lot more than a year in Shenzhen and
especially Shekou.
Yet here I am, spent the weekend talking with a chinese billionaire and
his friends, trying to come up with ideas for the numerous (I've lost
count) clubs, spas, floors of buildings, apartments etc that they own
Oh and a 700 year old temple that has a bar in it, last open when they
held Anna Sui's launch party.
It looks like they need a general manager for that bar, I wonder who
could fill those shoes?…
Not to mention opportunities way beyond that, shame my ideas are pretty
extreme , but that's me.
Even so, real potential for everything here, just bullshit and fake
everywhere else. Time to think about moving on.
Perhaps that should have been done a long time ago…
Like I said lots to think about, not to mention film is slowly working
it's way to me. It takes time to edit, cut, polish, as I'm finding out.
But I'm looking forward to projects on the way….
Still going to stay true to what I believe in , so The Ghost Walks with
You until next time.
Don't forget to check the archive, new photos going up when I can stop
it bombing out.
